The Ulysses Club held its inaugural meeting on 6th December 1983 at the Elizabeth Hotel, Sydney. The first Club Annual General Meeting was also held at the Elizabeth Hotel on 7th February 1984.
It was at this meeting that the Sydney Branch was founded. The basic aims and ethos of this wonderful Club are still alive and well today. From the Sydney Branch, which once boasted meeting attendances of 200 and more, came the advent of new Branches in and around the Sydney Basin.
Sydney Branch today is much smaller than in those early days but no less committed to providing a wonderful social environment for members and their partners as well as an interesting Ride Calendar, catering for mid-week and weekend riders.
We are also home to the highly regarded Sydney Odyssey which is held annually, usually over a 3-day weekend Friday-Sunday in October. The venue, usually located within approx 500kms of Sydney, is announced each year and widely circulated. It is open to all Ulysseans and their partners and represents an opportunity to meet new members and renew acquaintances with fellow Ulysseans.
Come and join with us. We meet on the 1st Tuesday of each month (except January) at Gladesville Sporties Club, 181A Ryde Road, Gladesville. Meetings start at 7.30 pm and refreshments are available. The Club has a very good bistro for those seeking a meal before the meeting.
